Santen UK Limited supplied slit lamp shields, also known as breath shields, free of charge to healthcare organisations in the UK and Ireland during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The breath shield aims to create a barrier between healthcare professionals and their patients during the routine slit lamp eye examination, which typically involves both parties being in close proximity to one another. The shield is a piece of protective equipment that supports the physical distancing measures in place due to the pandemic.
